Malta: The Pearl of the Mediterranean

Have you ever heard of the Republic of Malta? If you are like most people (including myself, before I discovered this beautiful island country), you probably have not. I think everyone should know about Malta, so, today, I will like to introduce (or re-introduce) you to one of my favourite and one of the most beautiful countries that I have been blessed enough to visit.

Malta is a tiny European country right in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. This island enjoys mostly good, but also unpredictable, weather; stunning natural attractions; breathtaking architecture; and clear, blue waters. The friendly Maltese people and great food are the icing on the already delicious cake.

*Admittedly, I did not take these pictures with the best camera but I hope you still get the point.

The best part of Malta, for me, was the visit to The Blue Lagoon in Comino Island, which included a boat ride to Comino. I was mesmerized by the view during the boat ride and The Blue Lagoon itself. When most people think of beaches, we think of stretches of sand along the water, but for the first time I saw a rocky beach. I did not even know that it was even possible to have that!! The rocks looked like they had been hand crafted and installed in place, and the water was so clear that I could see the tiny fishes swimming at the bottom. In the face of such natural perfection, I just had to reflect on the greatness and magnificence of God the architect and creator of all. Check out some more pictures below:

These few pictures do not do Malta justice, but please check out more pictures online. Malta is a beautiful country, and I would love to return over and over to relax and bask in its beauty. I hope you add this country to your travel list, if you have one, and visit when you have the opportunity. If you do not have a travel list, make one now! You have to “write the vision, and make it plain” (Habakkuk 2:2).

Random Story: I heard a popular Nigerian song playing as I was walking in Malta. You can imagine my surprise to find a tiny bit of Nigeria so far away.

Now Chioma, you really make me wanna put this on my ‘Summer plans’ list. I thought it was just one drab, low-budget place
