A few things you’re probably not taking serious in your early 20’s #beforeyouturn25

Timely discoveries are the pathways to timely elevations. Discovery isn’t the same as timely discoveries. A student who wasn’t aware he had so much funds to play with  and went on a compulsory fast , only to discover he had so much money five days later had a discovery; but a man who received the bank alert as soon as the money was wired to him had a timely discovery- they are myriad of worlds apart.
I love to drive a lot but I am yet to find a driver who drives faster than the brightness of his headlamps. This is to say that we go farther in distance in commensurate terms with the timely discoveries at our disposal. One of my favourite quotes goes:
“…the best time to plant a tree was 25years ago; the next best time is now’ Talk about timely discoveries!

It’s in my character to pen down a few lines every morning before getting out of bed, and in one of such times, I was immediately amazed to find out that life was divided into segments; each segment with a specific set of identified goals which if not attended to could hamper one’s growth hinder the success of the next phase.
Take for example a man who lived to be say 90 or 100years made it into the 4th quarter of 25years each- the first quarter being 0-25years and the last being 76-100. How you begin a building determines the height it would go.
It however becomes apparent to realise that the first 25years of a man’s life is possibly the most important for him as that sets the pace, tone and depth for his whole life. The secrets of men are definitely in their stories.

In this series I will be sharing a few of the things I’m persuaded you must prepare for, discover or learn ‘how to’ before you turn 25.

However, here’s the DISCLAIMER: life isn’t factored into human timing. The Bible makes us understand that swiftest person does not always win the race, nor the strongest man the battle…Eccl9:11 (TLB).
Remember I began by saying ‘the best time to plant a tree was 25years ago; the next best time is now’.
Even if you are well above 25, a lot of ground could be covered. If Moses got it right, If Abraham did, if Paul did- anyone, with the help of God and great commitment can – you too can and I believe you can.

I heard the story of a man who said God called him 15 years ago and hes now ready to take the call 15 years after. His mentor just looked at him and said God has called another person.
This man obeyed, it just wasn’t timely.
its not the age that matters, its the timeliness, the bible records “and Abraham departed” .

Exactly my point Sam, timeliness is needed however, God has a way of going beyond time to get His agenda fulfilled….

Can you also explain how parents play a role in the first segment of ones life. Because it seems that in our day and time, a huge part of the first 25 years maybe 18 years is strongly influenced by the family…. Thanks, looking forward to reading the next post.

Thanks Gbenga, the role of a parent or parents has a lot to do with the total outcome of one’s life…parenting style, beliefs, even the upbringing of one’s parent has a lot to do with the first 25years of one’s life.

Taking Africa as a case study where people get to spend much more time living with parents, for whatever reason am still yet to identify (lol)…there’s bound to be so much influence…

The single existence of this in my own thinking should be an oportunity to learn from the mistakes made by one’s parents and not repeat them (maritally, financially and whichever aspects of life one envisages change).
Personally, I have met a handful of individuals who on close observation are totally opposite of what their parents believe in, and all of those changes never occured when they lived together; they were all products of a personal decision to make things different after they moved out of the home.

Gbenga, iI do believe parenting has alot to do with the first 25 years of one’s life due to the closer proximity to the immediate family than any other social instituition, however, one can learn from a whole lot…thinking outside the box…noting also that ‘growing up’ in the 50’s or 60’s isn’t the same as today, there are perculiar challenges facing ths 21st century guy or girl, one must keep learning to meet up with the changing times..
