The story of a man called Joseph.

As a little boy, his father loved him the most of all his children, I guess he enjoyed preferential treatment from his father, he also had dreams that depicted he will be greater than his siblings and all these engendered envy from them.

In no time, they sort to get rid of him, at a major opportunity; they debated on either killing him or selling him as a slave. They eventually settled for the latter option. He was sold to some Ishmaelites and his final destination as a slave was Potiphar’s house.

Potiphar’s house became his place of work, his work there as a servant was his profession at the time, Yet he found favour and was placed in charge of the house. In all of these, he faced a major temptation from Potiphar’s wife; she wanted to sleep with him. Hmm! What an opportunity he had to compromise and maybe he could have enjoyed more preferential treatment from Potiphar’s wife for obliging her request.

Maybe she would has spoken well of him to her husband, Maybe he would have enjoyed special recommendations or connections, Maybe no one would have found out about their affair(God would definitely), Maybe it would have just been once, Maybe they would have continued. Who knows!

But here’s a lesson to learn from this story;

Joseph saw compromise as an act of wickedness and a great sin against God. (…how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God Gen.39:9)

What’s your view on compromise, how do you see it. Will you do anything just to get what you want, can you do anything just to please man at the detriment of your faith and conscience before God?

You see, maybe if Joseph had conceded to the wicked act, he would have still been greater than his brothers, and somehow he would say that his dreams came through. But maybe what he called great wouldn’t have been anywhere close to what God intended for him.

There’s no point compromising, no point cutting corners, God has a plan for you and only HE can bring it to pass no man can.

Don’t look out for the easy way, instead rest assured that HE will make it good in due time.

Avoid compro, avoid compromise and stand for righteousness.

What matters is God being glorified through you.
