How do I Evangelize?

Q: Is the statement “once saved forever saved” true? Please explain

A: It is true that Jesus is the only way to God, and once you accept Jesus by faith, you’re saved, period!salvation-through-faith You now qualify to enjoy fellowship with God and also get into heaven to be with HIM forever, either at death or rapture. The Holy Spirit in you is proof/seal that you belong to God. Eph. 1:13-14

But hey, salvation is not a license to go ahead in sin,  living according to the dictates of the flesh. The danger is that, if you fuel the lusts of the flesh, even though you’re saved, you’d bear the fruits of the flesh, by fulfilling the works and desires of your flesh. But when you walk according to the dictates of the Spirit, you’ll bring forth the fruits of the Spirit. Gal. 5:16-17.

*** True salvation entails death to sin and is not a licence or an excuse for us to sin. Rom.  6:1, Gal. 3:27

*** We as Christians are to live according to God’s will and not the dictates of the flesh. Rom. 13:14

You can also read Matt.7:22-23

In summary, when you’re saved, sin has no power over you, yet the flesh, (which is still a part of you here on earth) seeks to have pre-eminence over you. But you have the ability to choose which to yield to, either the Spirit or your flesh. Moreover, the fact still remains that no man will make heaven by works, but by faith in the finished work of Christ. And then it is God that will work in you both to will and to do of HIS good pleasure Phil.2:13 and it is God that will keep you from falling, Jude 1:24.

But your major responsibility is to always yield to the Holy Spirit and let HIM work in and through you.

– It is wrong if you use grace as an excuse to live in sin. You know what will happen… Matt.7:22-23

Q: How do I go about preaching the gospel or evangelizing to unbelievers… what’s the best approach or format of preaching the gospel?

A: In evangelism, there’s no one particular way to go about it, the Spirit can lead differently as HE pleases.

But I’d suggest this…

1) Tell them about the state of the sinner and what awaits them if they’re no saved

2) Tell them God is just and also loving that’s why HE has made a way of escape for them which is; by faith in JESUS.

3) Tell them no man will escape eternal damnation without JESUS.

4) Tell them they need to trust in Jesus Christ to make heaven, and the Holy Spirit is there to help them all the way.

Also note:

*** Tell them to set their affections on the things of Christ. Col. 3:1-3

*** Tell them they also need to evangelize after they’ve been saved, so that others too can heed the warning of eternal damnation

*** Let them know that they too will face tribulations and persecution in this world, but persecution can’t be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us. Rom. 8:18

Never tell them to come to God cos HE will make them rich or give them houses or the like. Anything you can get without Christ is not the gospel.

The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to them that believe. Rom. 1:16

Q: How true is this statement: The Bible is not the word of God but the Bible contains the word of God.

A: The Bible contains the word of God.

– The Bible is inspired by God… All scripture is inspired by God… 2 Tim.3:16

The Bible also contains words spoken by other men, for instance some translations of the Bible distinguish the words of Christ by writing them in a different color.

The most important thing to note is this, the Bible right from Genesis to Revelation points us to Jesus Christ. In other words, the Bible is centered on Christ.

Q: Also according to John chapter 1 can it be said that the word of God is a person, and the person is Jesus Christ.

A: John 1 clearly states that the word was God. And down to verse 14 it’s clear that the word took the form of flesh and dwelt here on earth.

The bible also helps us know that this ‘Light’ and ‘Word’ which took on flesh is Jesus Christ. Isa. 7:14, Matt.1:16, Matt.1:20-23, Luke 2:11, Rom.1:3-4, Gal.4:4, Phil.2:6-8, 1 Tim.3:16 etc.

So yes, the word is Jesus according to John 1.
