Paris, France: The City of Light
I will be honest with you and let you know that Paris is not one of my favourite places on Earth. Let me provide some more context: I had been living and studying in the south of France (Marseille) for a while before I ventured up north to Paris, and I do not think anything could have prepared me for the culture shock I experienced. From my experience in the South, I found the French people to be very warm, kind, helpful, and friendly; and the weather to be pleasant and beautiful. Let’s just say that I cannot say the same of my experience in Paris and, at the end of my visit, I was glad to return to Marseille.
Paris is beautiful! There are a variety of sights to see, places to visit, activities to do that you are bound to find options no matter what interests you. I know of many people who adore Paris, so I do not want to delve into the negative aspects I experienced (except you want me to; let me know in the comments section). I will let you form your own opinions. What I can share with you is some of the beauty of Paris through some pictures. Enjoy!
In spite of the experience I had, I am happy to have gotten the opportunity to visit Paris. A number of things may have contributed to my not-so-thrilling Parisian experience, so I would like to visit the city again and give it another chance. This time, with better planning, managed expectations, and fresh eyes.
