Take everything to God in prayer
We are all familiar with the phrase ‘take everything to God in prayer’ but the question remains- do we actually pray to God about everything and for everything? The common trend is ‘think about it first to see if you can solve the challenge then talk to other people about it when it seems you can’t handle the situation’. It is after we must have taken extreme measures and most times even compromised that we remember God, probably as our third or last option. This should not be so.
The bible admonishes us to pray always and just like the songwriter of the hymn says: ‘take it to the lord in prayer’. Praying or communication with God should be our first resort not a second option or last resort. Some people don’t even see the need to pray at all because they feel they can handle it but how can you handle it if you couldn’t prevent the challenge? How can you solve it without the wisdom of God?
Another important thing to note is taking everything to God in prayer and I mean everything.
Not just the challenges.
Many of us wait till there is an issue before we seek God’s opinion, but this should not be so. We should cultivate a lifestyle of continuous and consistent communication with God through prayer. He is all knowing and the truth is there is no insignificant matter to seek God’s opinion on. Everything about you is important to God- no matter how insignificant some issues might seem.
So my charge is pray about everything.
Worry about nothing.
Take everything to God in prayer.
Make it your lifestyle.
You will definitely see your life moving in the direction of God’s plan and purpose for your life, if only you take everything to Him in prayer.
Welcome to August and I pray you’ll experience deeper intimacy with God through fellowship.
