You know yourself more than anyone else- strengths and weaknesses, cravings and desires, habits you battle with which others may not see.

So what are those things you indulge in and feel aren’t great, stuff you you’re not proud of? Not a problem for you to itemize I suppose?

But that habit may be costly, so deal with it now before it deals with you.

For instance, Judas Iscariot loved money and was used to stealing from the money in his custody (John 12:6).  For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs (1Tim. 6:10). See how Judas Iscariot ended, (Matt. 27:8). He had the opportunity of a secured life in Christ but he threw it away.

Yours may be anger, pride, stealing, lust, etc. Are you tired of indulging? You should be.

With God’s help and your own determination, you can end the negative cycle.

The surest antidote to the works of the flesh is to walk in the Spirit (Gal.5:16).

Walk in the Spirit? Yes! Then how?

Read and study your bible: God’s words transform your mind and transform you into HIS very image. It might be gradual and not sudden, but it sure does.

Pray in your understanding, speak and pray in tongues: it wields great power (James 5:16b), it provides strength against temptation (Matt. 26:41, Luke. 22:46), it edifies you and serves an avenue of effective communication with God (1Cor.14:1-15).

Follow the leading of the Spirit of God: Trust the LORD completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. With every step you take, think about what he wants, and he will help you go the right way. Pro 3:5-6

Go to church: where you’ll be taught God’s word, stirred up unto good works and get edified (Heb. 10:24-25).

Beloved no negative habit should control you. You must be determined to end that cycle. I believe you will overcome that habit by God’s grace.

But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king’s food, or with the wine that he drank… Dan.1:8

Determination is key.

It’s majorly your responsibility. Receive grace to triumph in Jesus name, AMEN
