But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.

There’s a saying; ‘an idle man is the devils workshop’. So it’s not just enough to desist from the wrong company. It’s equally expected that you channel your energy into something worthwhile. We can see something in Psalm 1 verse 2.

990f552f3bb0b1874f94e814f69f0942Delight in the word of God (remember the ungodly don’t delight in God’s word), and abide by the instructions and teachings of God’s word.

You are definitely a wise man when you abide by the instructions you find in God’s word. “Whoever hears these teachings of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. It rained hard, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house. But it did not fall because it was built on rock” Matt. 7:24-25 (ERV)

Interestingly when you meditate on the word of God, you open up yourself for success. This is promised in Joshua 1:8 “Always remember what is written in that book of law. Speak about that book and study it day and night. Then you can be sure to obey what is written there. If you do this, you will be wise and successful in everything you do” (ERV)
