Wisdom Tip #4

Wisdom Tip #4 – Be Courageous

Courage according to Encarta dictionary is the ability to face danger, difficulty, uncertainty, or pain without being overcome by fear or being deflected from a chosen course of action.

The fear of the unknown, the fear of failing, the clouds of uncertainty influence some people, keeping them from taking major steps in life.

It is believed that life in itself is full of risks, but not everyone is willing to take risks. Some would rather condone discontentment in the name of security than take any risk.

Some lepers had this conversation – Now there were four men who were lepers at the entrance to the gate. And they said to one another, “Why are we sitting here until we die?

They refused to remain on a spot, and their actions resulted in the fulfilment of a prophecy (2Kings 7:3-20).

A widow in Zarephath also took a bold step in obedience, and a prophecy was fulfilled. She didn’t lack (1 Kings 17:7-16).

Now Jesus spoke to Peter, He told him to come on water, and Peter obeyed (Matthew 14:28-29). Have you ever imagined the kind of guts it took for Peter to take the first step out of the boat? Even though he started sinking because he doubted when he saw the waves, the fact remains he walked on water too.

When a prophecy goes forth, don’t fold your arms and do nothing. You should take steps as the Spirit of God ministers to you. Don’t be afraid to step out.

You have a great advantage when God tells you want to do, where to go and even how to go about an issue. Your response should be obedience.

As you keep at it, be focused on God and don’t let doubt come in your way.

If God told you to walk on water, then you can…
Be bold and step out in obedience.
